Wireworld has introduced a new line
of HDMI extender systems that are designed to transmit HDMI (high definition
multimedia interface) signals up to 300 feet over a pair of low-cost,
small-diameter, and readily-available CAT 5e or CAT 6 cables. These systems are
an ideal solution for transmitting HDMI over structured cabling, and allow for
routing of systems through conduits or in-wall installations where standard HDMI
cables would difficult or impossible to install.
Each Wireworld HDMI extender system
includes a transmitter, receiver, and a power supply which connects to the
receiving end of the system. They are designed to work with standard unshielded
CAT 5e and CAT 6 cable for compatibility with nearly every structured wiring
system in use today. The systems fully HDCP compliant, and support all major
high definition video formats, including 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p
standards. The systems are capable of clear, distortion-free transmission at
lengths of up to 150 feet for the most common 1080i and 720p standards, and over
50 feet for 1080p, the highest home theater resolution standard in use today.
When used with conventional 480i broadcast video or DVD signals, the extenders
are capable of transmission lengths as high as 300 feet.
